The Taranaki Women held their prizegiving Thursday 14th February 2019. Congratulations ladies, prizes were awarded to...

Hurley Cup (Batting award): NATALIE DODD. Nat scored 84 runs in her debut season for Taranaki. The most notable performance was her 40 off 41 balls in the T20 match vs Hawkes Bay. Nat has been a great addition to the team this year and we welcome her back in 2019/2020 with open arms.

Angela Buckland Trophy (Bowling award): KELSEY HUSBAND & KATE BAXTER. A tied award this season with both bowlers taking 8 wickets each. Kate’s standout performance was at Pukekura Park vs Manawatu taking 5-20 in a great display of bowling. Kelsey has again been Miss Consistency with her off-spin bowling. Highlights for her this year were 2-31 in the T20 final vs Wairarapa and 3-16 against Hawkes Bay in the T20 tournament.

Copelin Trophy (Most improved Award): AMY FOREMAN. Amy has shown much improvement in her game throughout the off and pre-season this year, this was rewarded with selection in the Wellington U21 team. She has always been a fantastic team person throughout the years and this year was no different. Her contribution to the team’s performance this season has been great to see.

Jan Davies Cup 'Player of the Year': KATE BAXTER. As skipper of the side Kate has shown many qualities throughout the season that have helped the side improve both on and off the field. She is a great role model in the side and show enthusiasm and knowledge at all times. Kate consistently contributed with both bat & ball and was rewarded with consistent selection in the Central Hinds team for both the T20 and 50 over competitions.

Players 'Players player': MEGAN WASHINGTON. Megan was one of those people who always added value to any team she was a part of, including ours. She was someone who showed all of the qualities that are important to our team. Some of these were committed to the team at trainings and games, always putting the teams’ needs above her own, giving 100% in every match, performing well when given the chance and most importantly enjoying herself at all times! We can learn a lot from her as a person and let these qualities guide us in seasons to come when we look at an ideal team person. In one of her last performances for Taranaki she was an integral part of the bowling attack picking up 2 key wickets during the game against Hawkes Bay in 2016/17 season.
