Taranaki Women get beaten in pre season match

The Taranaki Women travelled to St Peter’s Cambridge to play Auckland A in a 45 over game, on Sunday 11th November. Taranaki lost the toss & were put into bat first, openers Natalie Dodd & Emily Cunningham got the women off to a great start before Emily was out for 23 & the score on 58. Losing regular wickets the women were all out for 102 in the 30th over. Natalie Dodd on debut top scoring with 34.

Kate Baxter claimed an early wicket to have Auckland 12-1, however they only lost one other wicket and Auckland A were on their way to winning the game, finishing 104-2 in the 20th over.

Obviously a disappointing result for the women, however it has identified a few areas to work on before the women's next game against the Wairarapa in 2 weeks’ time.
